Before we modified it, the link provided was actually something like http://www.our-site-to-give-you-virus.com/virus-of-our-choice-and-get your-login-id-and-password.htm. It was not to an https: site which would allow your password to be protected. If you logged in at the directed site your password would be sent in the clear as readable information on the internet and of course the scammer would have had your complete account login information. But this attack is not only an attempt to get yuor account logon information the web page you are directed to is deliberately designed to give you a virus. In this case a scam and a virus are being created together.
