BNC

The BNC connector is a connector made for terminating coaxial cable which normally carries radio frequency signals. It is commonly referred to as a British Naval Connector but may be named after it's locking mechanism which looks like a "Bayonet" and the inventors of the BNC connector, Paul Neill and Carl Concelman. Therefore BNC stands for Bayonet Neill Concelman. BNC connectors are commonly used on thin Ethernet networks.
