Queues allow viewing of outgoing messages to various domains (other email servers). If there is a green checkbox, it means the queue for that server is active and working properly. If there is a blue arrow going in a circle, it means the server at the other end was not contacted at the last attempt and it will be retried at the next retry interval. To list messages in the queue, right click in the right pane and select "Enumerate 100 Messages".
